Another visit to Hospital Pantai

It's has been a week since I last post anything in this journal. Life has been a little bit tied up with 2 of my wife's relatives passed away. My in-law uncle that is the husband to my mother-in-law's sister, and my in-law grandmother.

Ya Allah, please grant both of them the happiness in the hereafter and let them be among the solihin. Al-Fatihah.

On a separate note, last Thursday was another visit to Hospital Pantai Kuala Lumpur. My wife and I were very excited to meet the doctor and to perform another round of ultra sound test.

Outside the doctor's room while waiting for our turn, my wife suggested that we record a video of all the ultra sound test. Well, I said, if the doctor permits. And so the doctor did allows us to do that. I'll share the video soon enough in my next post.

As per last ultra sound, our baby has been very very active, kicking, pushing, turning around. Dr Idora highlight to us the development of our baby, the bones that already forming, legs, hands, face.

Suddenly Dr Idora turn the 3D imaging and we can see clearly the body of our baby. The face is really looking more human with ears, eyes, nose are in the place they should be. As if knowing that we capturing video of our baby, the baby turn to face us. Subhanallah, the moment that makes  both of us touched. Thank you Allah for this wonderful gift.

"This baby is really good" was what the doctor said when examining our baby. Amin.

There you are, my baby

Turn back time on 7 Jan 2015, we went for our first ultrasound test at one clinic near Gombak area.

My wife was too curious to find out what's happening to our baby and can't wait for her first scheduled checkup on 27 Jan 2015. Well, me too was eager to look at our tiny little baby.

So we went to the clinic that night after returning from work.

"You baby looks healthy". So fascinating to see the ultrasound monitor for the first time with the tiny white area that supposed to be the baby.

"So it's 11 weeks in size". What, 11 weeks? Well, I'm pretty sure it's just 8 weeks by then. Alhamdulillah our baby is healthily fed with nutritions that it grows so quick.

"Are you sure there is only one, doctor?", "Yes, no matter what angle that I look, it's only one baby". The nurse asked us "You wanted twin". Yup, that would be a bonus.

Journey to Parenthood

Yesterday me & my wife went for an event at Bukit Jalil Golf & Country Resort for Journey to Parenthood sharing by an outstanding doctor from Hospital Pantai Cheras. I go there with less expectation, not knowing what will be presented and shared by the doctor. My sister in law is the one registered us to the event.

In the car heading to the place, I ask my wife what is this event is all about. Then she said something about Hypnobirthing, water birth and stuffs. Well, sounded interesting, actually I don't really know what are those thing. LOL.

I am always in favors of normal birthing aka vaginal birthing rather than caesarean section when giving birth. Well, turn out hypnobirthing and water birth are the new way of natural child birth, but more gentle and use no medicine, no more screaming and shouting of the mum. Really interesting is that the mum just need to breath out the baby for birth.

They shown a video of child birth using water birth method. The mum sat in birthing pool until all the tummy is submerge under water. With few relaxing breathing technique accompany by the husband, the child head slowly emerge. After few moments, the whole baby body just literrally popped out from the mum and child birth is done. Subhanallah سبحان الله

They also talked about breastfeeding. I always wanted my baby to be breastfeed cause I know there are many benefits to the mum and the baby. Few tips shared by the doctor to make sure breastfeeding is a success:
1. Feed breast milk only
2. No bottle feeding, at least for the first month after delivery
3. Always do night feed
4. Follow the one week rule after child birth
Like what the doctor said, there is no shortcut for breastfeeding. Work hard indeed.

Well now I know, maybe not much, but enough to make myself comfortable with my wife decision of doing hypnobirthing at Hospital Pantai Bangsar.

Ya Allah يا الله please ease my wife pregnancy and child delivery, and please ensure both my wife and my baby healthy and strong. Amin
